History
Montessori Academy of Glen Ellyn was founded in the historic McChesaney House on Main Street in 1961. The preschool thrived near downtown Glen Ellyn and in 1979 the school was purchased by Annie and her father.
Drawn to the park-like setting, they purchased our lovely property in 1997 and moved the school to our present location. By this time, they had a Toddler class and added an Elementary class. Middle School was added in 2016 at the request of families in the elementary program!
Annie states, “The driving force behind the evolution of the school has always been the interests of the surrounding community and the needs of children and parents. It has been an honor and a pleasure to work beside so many incredible Montessori professionals serving children and families for five decades.”
